Here’s another bit from War’s End. Coralie has found the pilot, Kelty, but he’s tangled in some sticky vines. She’s asked her dog to find the medic, Ginger. If you want more background, click “Index” above, and then “Six Sentence.”
Again, she projected her image of the person sought. This time the dog didn’t even bother to air-scent, just went to the broken vegetation where Coralie had entered the clearing and trotted away. Within minutes she heard Ginger call the dog’s name, and Coralie called back, “Follow her. Bounce, come.” As soon as the dog came in sight through the underbrush, she added, “Find the others. Ginger, is there anything in your kit that will dissolve that sap?”
Six sentences at a time isn’t much, but that’s it for today. For the other fine authors who’ve posted six sentence snippets of their work today, click on the logo.
I hope Ginger isn’t hurt and can get Kelty down! Great 6.
The trick is going to be getting him loose without getting stuck themselves.
I’m hoping whatever can dissolve that sap won’t dissolve Kelty, too!
🙂
I sincerely hope that at the end of all this Bounce gets a puppy spa day, because that dog has worked for it and totally deserves it! Great to see how the two are still working as one.
Puppy spa? On this planet? Though she is little more than a puppy.
Oh, it’s a different planet? Well, I hope they have some sort of reward for the work their connected animals do…
Totally different planet, and one Coralie knows nothing about. And the only reward they can give her is to share what they have in the way of food.
Very practical. Coralie is emerging as the leader of the survivors.
She’s the only one with any wilderness experience.
Wonder what she’ll use to disolve the sap?
And I still love Bounce…he deserves his own storyline! lol
I could list the pocket herders on my blog, and tell a bit of their stories. And I’m thinking about self publishing the story of their start, 250 years earlier. If I can figure out how to self-publish.
Man, he’s *really* stuck. Hope he doesn’t become the first human in amber.
They’re a capable bunch.
I’m enjoying watching this adventure play out, love the dog…quite an intriguing story! Great six as always!
Everyone seems to love Bounce, but she can be a bitch figuratively as well as literally.
Nothing better happen to Bounce. LOL. I wouldn’t be able to handle such a tragedy. I agree with Christine, Bounce needs is own storyline!!
Sorry, “his” — his own storyline.
Her!
That’s what I said. Teehee
Awesome six, Sue Ann…. I hope they can get out of there.
Not before the end of what I plan to post. I hope I can find a publisher for the trilogy, though.
Yikes. Using something that dissolves sap sounds dangerous. I hope they can get out of there.
Actually, there are several things that will dissolve sap.
Dissolving sap sounds like it could be a problem. Hopefully, it won’t be.
Funny how everyone assumes dissolving sap would be a major problem. (Well, I guess it could be.)
Oh, my. This is really getting to be a sticky situation…
Okay. I’m sorry. I couldn’t resist. I’m glad that Coralie is taking charge!
I’d sic a werewolf on you for the pun–but mine probably would refuse. (Clyn’s not quite your normal werewolf–tracks lost children.) Maybe Bounce? She’d go for you if you threatened the baby.
That sap has got to be really thick to need something corrosive to dissolve it. Good six!
Not so much thick as sticky.
Each week, I find myself more and more interested in what’s to come next. Well done!
I sure hope an agent or editor feels that way.
Great six! You just keep building the suspense of what is going to happen.
That’s the name of the game, isn’t it?
Things are coming together for them . . . or are they? *grin*
Well, for this particular problem.
