Sunday is the day for Weekend Writing Warriors (click the logo above for other participants) and Snippet Sunday (click the logo below.)
I am continuing to post from Rescue Operation. Roi Is the first to speak, finishing the sentence Emeraude started last week.

“And mine. She’s Lai’s daughter, and she has a mind of her own.” With boosting, he thought he could reach Derry, Kaia and Wif telepathically, even without a planned contact. They wouldn’t know what had happened, any more than he had, and his first priority had better be to let them know, even if they couldn’t break away right now.

By choice Roi was an esper Healer, an artist, and devoted to his family. The Healing talent was a legacy from his R’il’nian father, the last survivor of the now-extinct R’il’nai. His creativity was a gift from the Human mother he could barely remember. His love for children and other small, helpless things might have come from his mother as well, though he thought it just as likely to have been learned from Marna, the R’il’nian stepmother who had taught him to use the Healing ability he’d been born with.

Communication is key! I’m glad Roi has allies in this, even if they are scattered and busy.
How are you feeling?
Feeling much better, though still in the hospital. Theyre talking about sending be home next week, though, and I’m back to eating a little.
Our hero, Roi, is the man we all look up to. More insight into what’s happening. Thanks. Be well, my friend.
Just hope it doesn’t come across as an infodump.
Sounds quite interesting. Looking forward to more snippets and a better look at the story.
The older stuff can all be accessed though “index” on the opening page.
Always happy to have more details of Roi’s background. I hope you’re doing much better these days and at least have gotten home? HUG!
Still in the hospital in Anchorage, but they’ve pulled most of the tubes. Also easing me back to a normal diet: omolette and fresh fruit this morning. I should head home sometime this week.
Enlisting your allies (and knowing who they are!) is vital in this cat & mouse game.
Especially knowing who they are.
Roi’s going to have to work fast to outwit the enemy. Great snippet. Hope your health keeps improving and you get to go home this week!
Another intriguing snippet. Great 8.
Oh, I love the way you worked in some of Roi’s history. Very intriguing!
Long as it didn’t come through as an infodump (which it is.)
It didn’t seem like an info dump to me. It was pretty concise, while still giving us a good picture of the character’s background.
Hope you get home soon, and start feeling better. I hope Roi and friends can figure out a way to get things handled.
it’s going to take a while especially since some of them are convinced Zhaim is simply misled.
Great snippet–loving the peek into the character’s background.
Some peek into background is essential at this point.
You’ve done a good job of writing Roi’s allies and his foes. I didn’t think this felt like an infodump (regards a comment you made earlier).
I hope your recovery is swift, Sue Ann, and that you do get to go home this week. 🙂
It is, though I hope it was disguised enough to pass.
Information–always the first step. I get the feeling it will take a bunch of good minds working together to fix what it took one devious mind to break!
Sure will.
the level of imagination to create the world that you’ve written is astounding!!! Loved the snippet!
Glad you like it.
You’ve got some good suspense here, Sue Ann. So many layers of things going on; I really like the complex world you have. The characters absolutely seem real. I am SO curious what’s going to happen next! And I hope you’re home really soon, and that you feel like your old self again 🙂
My world is deep. PET scan now p[ut off until
thurs. (Just try typing with an O sensor glued to one finger.
I hope he’s able to reach them telepathically. It never worked for me. Thanks for stopping by.

It’s a major mode of commnication among the R’l’noinds, but they vary in hiw good they are. Roi’s aming the best but distance is a problem
Love how much depth this world has. I feel like I only touch a small part of it with these snippets.
You’ll only see a small part with each snippet, but it will be consistent.
Interesting read. I like how you went into depth, giving some backstory.
Keep smiling,
Yawatta
Story doesn’t make sense without it.
