Second and third place winners in the single block sculptures at Ice Alaska:
2nd Place Realistic: Teaching Breaching. Sculptors Aaron Costic and Stephan Koch, USA.
2nd Place Abstract: Windy Day. Scultors Vitaliy Lednev and Sergey Loginov, Russia.
3rd Place Realistic: Conformity. Sculptors Steve Brice and Heather Brice, USA.
3rd Place Abstract: Flight to the Sun. Sculptors Eduard Ponomarenko and Aleksei Tugarinov, Russia
There are times I find myself wondering where the dividing line is between realistic and abstract.
Just amazing.
I can’t imagine how beautiful that must look in person.
Thanks for sharing.
Heather
And these are the small ones. Hope to see them finishing up the multi-blocks today, though it’ll probably be snowing.
I am in awe of these sculptures especially the Teaching Breaching. Beautiful.
I have photos of all of the single block sculptures. I’ll probably post most as thumbnails that can be enlarged.
Those are incredible, just like the people who made them– working so hard on something so transient. Congratulations on making it to Heather’s team– she’s a fantastic person to work with!
Thanks. I just hope I can handle April! (More ice pictures are on past blogs and coming up.)
If you simply post one ice-sculpture picture a day all of April, I’ll be a happy visitor 😉
Can’t get them to fit with the alphabet.
