Yesterday the sun shone in Ithaca, and my brother-in-law took my suster and I for a drive to see the last of the autumn leaves. It froze hard last night, so leaves were falling fast, but there was a little color left. I took about half of the photos with my iPhone (for which I remembered to bring the cable) and half with my Cannon, for which the cable is back in Alaska. I thought I’d share a few of the iPhone photos.

Hi Sue, For awhile I have been curious about your trips back East–such as the Corning Museum of Glass, a place I dearly love. I saw it for the first time in the late 50s. It’s different today!
My brother and his wife have been restoring an 1840s farmhouse on the West side of Cayuga starting in the 1960s. I’ll bet you drove right past it. They own one of the few undeveloped lots on Cayuga Lake–one of the few places you can see the Lake from the road.
My brother and his wife were volunteers when the NPS was established the Women’s Rights National Monument. I remember seeing the Elizabeth Cady Stanton house before the Park Service got its hands on it. It had shocking florescent green siding, and my sister-in-law and I stood outside proclaiming “We’ll be the slaves of men, Just leave that electricity, running water and washing machine in there!”.
My brother has spent decades researching and locating on the ground various feeder canals for the Erie Canal as well as lobbying for the preservation of the Erie.
I was in Seneca Falls in mid-October. The Finger Lakes are a fascinating region, but I don’t know if I could give up Fairbanks for them.
I hope you are recovering nicely and will return to Fairbanks if that is your wish.

I’ll be coming back tomorrow, as a matter of fact. Hope I can get to the cab without boots,
