This photo was taken right off the deck of my sister and brother-in-law’s house in Ithaca, and no, they do not live out of town. Photo by Richard Baer.
Just a very short post for Thanksgiving day. For the day’s feast, aren’t you glad the turkey was domesticated? Wonder why Ben Franklin wanted to make it the National bird? He was thinking of the wild ones, which are still around, though not in Alaska. My brother-in-law took this picture, in his back yard (Ithaca, New York.)
My father-in-law raised a few wild turkeys on his farm, from chicks. They are comical birds and liked to wander the neighbourhood together. At night raccoons got a couple, others we aren’t sure what happened to them. I think there may be a couple left.
Great photo, Sue.
These just happened into the yard. Ithaca is wooded, and I think they are genuine wild birds. They see deer there, too.
I like it! You should suggest they get a trail cam! I have a trail cam, living in the mountains I get alot of wild animal pictures from it. check out these pictures of turkey from my trail cam.
I think they’d mostly get deer and raccoons, which they’re not too fond of.
