Welcome back to War’s End. Ginger is trying to free Kelty, Madame Irela is sitting on a log, Bounce is off hunting for Audi, and Coralie’s survival training is kicking in. If you want more details, click “Index” above, and then “Six Sentence Sunday.”
Survival training? What we get in the segments on the weather report is seven steps: Recognition that you’re in a survival situation, inventory of what you have with you, shelter (including clothing), water, food, signals, and play. Inventory has to wait until they’re all together and Ginger has time to get the medical kit open. The signals don’t apply: Coralie has just urged them to move out of the clearing, asking if they want to be visible to satellites.
“We don’t,” Kelty agreed as he managed to pull a hand free. “Thanks, Ginger. Mostly it’s my clothes that are stuck, not me. Maybe if I can wiggle out of them ….”
“Let me cut your hair loose, first. You’ll have to wear it short for a while.”

A haircut is a small price to pay for freedom! Well described as always!
Let’s hope Kelty agrees!
Hope she’ll be OK with having short hair. Fun six. Who says that last line, though?
He. Kelty’s the only man of the group, and he’s not too happy about depending on a group of women for his freedom. Ginger is talking at the end, since she’s the one who is working on getting him loose.
Oh ok, sorry I got the characters confused.
Cutting your hair can be stressful but the freedom that comes with it will be good. I loved this Six, Great job. 🙂
Especially if the back of your head is glued to a tree!
Short hair or being stuck? I think I’d go with the short hair! Love how Kelty can continue to keep his head whilst being in such a tough position.
Kelty’s old enough and experienced enough to be sensible.
Kelty’s losing more than hair sounds like! What a situation but they keep working hard and constructively to get themselves out of danger. Another excellent six!
He’s not going to be happy about it.
Great six! Sounds like he’ll be losing more than just his hair. That’ll be awkward for him.
Not for him; his background is from a culture were nudity is accepted, as is Ginger’s. But Coralie and Madam Irela are from quite a different background.
Not the hair! 😀 Great six, Sue Ann!
Not quite as bad as Gimli’s beard!
True! 🙂
Haircut and freedom. I choose haircut. Though I’ve had some real frightful haircuts. lol
Cutting stuck hair lose from sticky vines is almost guaranteed to produce a frightful haircut.
Well, *I* think it’s an easy choice. Let’s hope Kelty agrees!
At this point, he’ll do anything to get unstuck.
I would hope that in a situation where your survival is on the line, anyone would swallow their pride and go with the most logical, helpful plans–no matter who presented it. But I know people are often not so sensical. I loved following the train of thought here.
Oh, Kelty’s sensible enough to accept the necessity–he’s close to 50, and not all that vain. But that doesn’t mean he won’t grumble a bit!
The getting out of the clothes might make them all forget the haircut… Lovely excerpt. I was right in there with them.
See my reply to Lorraine Patton.
Hopefully the loss of his hair is as unimportant as his loss of clothing. Interesting six, Sue Ann.
Oh, he’s not happy about either, but at least he’s getting loose.
Great six. If he really wants to get free, he’ll go along with cutting his hair and possibly losing his clothes. He better hurry though, those satellites are making me nervous for them.
I don’t think the women are going to give him much choice.
And they shouldn’t 🙂
Such a relief freedom is closer, even if it means losing the hair and the clothing!
Kelty’s freedom, at least.
