“But get this–they’re planning to bring a big old surface truck up the Elson Highway.”
“Elson Highway? You mean the drovers’ trace? They’ll never make it.”
“‘Specially not if there’s a landslide. Or maybe a washout.”

Trilogy? Is this a new universe/set-up from Homecoming & Tourist Trap? Or something new?

It’s the same universe but more than 200 years later. Many of the non-aging characters are the same, and some of the aging characters are remote descendants of those in the first two books. The first chapter needs some serious work, but I thought the second would be good for six sentences at a time.

The drovers trace is a dirt trail used to drive animals to market. This is a very energy-poor planet.
